Integration with Slack allows notifications from the 802 Secure Console to be immediately delivered when observed and gives you the control over who, how and when to respond to issues. Integration is made using Slack App Webhooks.
Step 1: Create Slack App
The first step is to create an app in Slack.
From the Slack web interface or client, find the Configure apps option:
Follow the Slack process to create a new app and obtain a Webhook URL. This URL will be used later in Step 2.
Create App - https://api.slack.com/apps?new_app=1
After pressing Allow your new webhook will be created. Scroll down the page to find the details. Copy and save the URL (it will still be available from the App page if you lose it) for Step 2.
Step 2: Configure The 802 Secure Console
Now that you have your Slack Webhook URL, time to set up the 802 Secure Notifier.
Under the Setup / Utilities menu on the left-hand side of the console, click on Rules, Policies, Notifications to open the sub menu. Click on Notifiers to open the list page of notifications:
Select the New Notifiers button at the top right of the page:
From the Create Notifier page, enter a name and select Slack under the Notifier type dropdown:
Paste the Slack Webhook URL obtained earlier in the Webhook URL field. You do not need to enter a channel or mention unless you wish to change the Slack-configured values.
Select the Save Notifier button. Your new Notifier is configured and ready to be connected to a Rule Policy or Daily Report!
