Closing The Incident Response Gap

Modified on Fri, Aug 16, 2019 at 8:55 AM

802 Secure is proud to announce the first fully realized closed-circle wireless security incident to on-the-ground incident response application. This app is designed to provide threat hunting for wireless and IoT cyber physical risks identified by 802 Secure’s AIRSHIELD™ platform. By delivering incidents to the feet-on-the-ground team, information security and physical security teams can unite in triaging wireless and IoT risks such as spy cameras, rogue wireless networks, unmanaged IoT devices, and Shadow IoT.

Beginning with our AIRSHIELD™ environment, all 802.11 wireless devices are observed and catalogued 24 hours, 7 days a week. This level of visibility into your airspace is the first step at identifying networks and devices that may pose a risk to your business and end users. Other sources of information, such as from Cisco Meraki AirMarshal events, are also available.

What Can I Do About It?

You can solve it in real-time!

With the 802 Secure Incidents application, available now from the Google Play Store, you can close the loop on this scenario by tracking down the physical device and dealing with it, or its owner, accordingly.

Information about the risk is provided in the app and tied to an incident ticket. The responder can leverage the app to gain knowledge into the proximity of the offending device or network, as well as information about the type of device.

The beaconing capability will allow the responder to start within the proximity and identify the exact location of the wireless device. After locating the device, the responder can take a picture and comment on any actions taken, thus closing the loop on the incident and closing the Cyber Physical Security gap.
